When booking we told the restaurant my daughter had a severe nut/peanut allergy. On arriving she was presented with an annotated menu with what was safe and... read more what she could have with recommended substitutions. What care - we we blown away. But the best was yet to come. We had a terrible time deciding what to order as it all sounded so amazing. When our choices arrived .. we we’re so happy - absolutely delicious, fantastically prepared and beautifully presented food.
To add to this, the staff could not do enough. We were not rushed but so we’ll looked after. If you visit Dartmouth Andria is a must. Thank you guys x
I booked this restaurant based on reviews and was not disappointed. it was my wife's birthday and it was great to able to relax in an informal setting and sit... read more back and be served high quality dishes. We were recommended to choose three dishes each and a pudding each. We have eaten in many high end restaurants and each dish was excellent. Favourites were - Monk Fish in rosemary & honey, lamb loin, Dawlish hen of the woods and Brixham crab. if you are looking for a restaurant serving big main courses and puddings this is not for you. Its a tasting experience and i can honestly say we were full at the end.
This was one of the highlights of our break in Dartmouth. We called Thursday lunchtime. Once we walked in we were welcomed by the fantastic waiting staff. We went for... read more the sourdough with wonderful whipped smoked butter followed by five small plates and a portion of the confit potatoes. A bottle of Sauvignon blanc to complement the meal. The plates were 2 of the Torched Brixham Cod with a lovely smoked butter sauce, a little caviar and samphire; a Langoustine bisque with fettucine; a beef and ale tart; and the Dawlish hen of the woods mushroom dish. Then we had two Chocolate mille-feuiles and coffees to finish. It is not cheap but worth every penny.
Andria's Restaurant claims to provide dishes for vegans and offers a separate menu. However, the three small plate dishes offered are really sides - a delicious lettuce salad, small potatoes... read more in oil and mushrooms deep fried until all that was left was the batter! The latter was a totally dry plate of food. I was sitting with people eating fish and meat dishes which had clearly been planned and balanced in terms of texture and taste - no such care had appeared to have been taken in creating vegan dishes.
Really lovely dinner experience. Food exceptionally tasty and presented. Informative and friendly staff - an absolute delight. We could have eaten every item on the menu, but just selected 3... read more each. You must book in advance, as the restaurant is quite small (good), and many people turned away while we were there.Good value wine list.

Beautiful produce, sublime flavours and excellent service
Expensive yes but you get what you pay for
Smoked butter served with the sourdough was out of this world .
Andria is our favourite Dartmouth restaurant - we’ve dined there several times and it’s always been exceptional.
Our first visit for Sunday lunch was also good - one of... read more the best roasts I’ve had in fact. The concept is a sharing joint for 2 - sirloin of beef or rack of lamb with perfect roasties (crispy outside, fluffy inside), massive Yorkshire Pud, Cauli cheese to die for, carrots, peas, cabbage, stuffing and a pot of glossy gravy. Everything was simply delicious and I’d highly recommend trying while they still do this menu (not available in the summer).
My niggles, which I hope were a one-off not the new norm:
- Cold plates, so my delicious roast cooled down rather too quickly
- Service was hit and miss and waiting staff were chalk and cheese - the very jolly chap had the personality but not the substance, the posh girl had the service technique but not the chat.
- We really were asked to re-use our (fish) starter cutlery for the main course whereas the other member of staff was changing the cutlery for other tables.
- No offer of drinks top up at all and we had to ask for our red wine to be brought with the main course despite obviously empty glasses. Other tables had empty glasses too.
- There was no mention of how the meat would be cooked or request for preference. Beef medium to medium rare in places was fine for us, and probably how the chef would want to serve it, but I know many who would not want it so pink - so at least warn people and give them opportunity to request it less red.
Andria is really very good but should not become complacent and address those niggles.
We had a fab meal at Andria for my husband’s birthday. Recommended by Nichola at our B&B, Kerswell farmhouse, Andria was every bit as good as we were told it... read more would be - and more! We shared 6 of the small plates, they were all delicious. Our faves were the hen of the woods and the fillet of beef (wow!). We will definitely return next time we are in gorgeous Dartmouth.
The food was amazing and the service was really great. However, we visited for a birthday which was acknowledged as we entered. Our table was booked for 6pm and we... read more were fully aware that this was for 2 hours which we were completely happy
with and living in a small seaside resort through covid we fully understand, However, once we had ordered desert, well within the 2 hour slot, we felt rushed to the extent that the staff had no time even to exchange pleasantries and customers on other tables even put their hands up and commented “alright, alright we are leaving” still within our 2 hour slot. We had been given a free desert wine for my husbands birthday but we would far have preferred not to have been herded out. If you can’t deliver this fabulous food and service in this time, please don’t offer it. It completely spoilt what would have been an amazing experience,
We had a wonderful meal at Andria, a celebration for my birthday during our stay in Dartmouth. The only reason I haven’t given an excellent mark is that one of... read more the waiting staff wanted to clear a dish away before we had finished eating, she also brought out an incorrect dish, we knew exactly what we had ordered & the correct dish followed quickly so our guess is it was for another table.
Otherwise the food was amazing & the head waiter great. Expensive but for a special occasion I would definitely recommend.
Visiting the beautiful Dartmouth, Andria is a fairly new restaurant to the already, wonderful collection of restaurants in the town, & one that did not disappoint.
We booked for... read more lunch, & we didn't anticipate that we would want to try almost everything on the menu! However, there was 4 of us, & after reading the superb menu, we were so tempted!
Following the 'boom' trend, Andria follows the 'small plate' sharing style, which is perfect, as it gives you the option to try lots of different dishes. However, in some cases, if you see a dish you particularly like the sound of, I would highly recommend ordering x2; otherwise you only get a small mouthful!
Service, is as it's food, First Class, with staff incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, provenance of ingredients, & wines. Staff are friendly, attentive and pace the dishes accordingly.
The food itself is excellent, with some standout dishes such as Dawlish Hen of the Woods, Beef & Ale Tart, Hand Dived Scallops & the delicious Brixham Monkfish, however, ALL dishes were incredible, with such care & passion towards locally sourced, & seasonal ingredients.
Top marks goes to this inspired restaurant, which is great for friends, couples & those special occasions.
Before having visited, it was interesting seeing some bad reviews in amongst a lot of very positive ones for Andria. However, having visited twice, just a few days apart, we... read more can understand why. The personnel were completely different on the two occasions and, in particular, the restaurant was being managed completely differently on each occasion. The first occasion was run like a well oiled machine, seamlessly, and the customer relations were great - very personable to customers and managing the staff really well. The second occasion completely different - chaotic with staff not knowing what dishes from the menu were unavailable, manageress being rude and condescending to staff in front of diners (very unprofessional!) and not creating the atmosphere one would want to dine in. Food was still good (what was available!) but not a pleasant experience.
Food, wine, service and atmosphere made for a memorable evening. Particularly recommend “The hen of the woods”. One of the many interesting courses.
Holiday in Dartmouth a couple of times a year and always look forward to dining at Andria - small plates are all very flavoursome and a bit unusual. Could have... read more eaten every dish on the menu -crab and the torched cod were our favourites. Good friendly service. Will be back.
Great food, lovely wines. Choices are good for the small plates. Wine limited on choice but great wines. Italian Sauvignon blanc was delicious and lovely to have Roberto Anselmi’s “I... read more Capatelli” on as a dessert wine!
Favourite dishes were the crab and the scallops. Desserts were also fantastic.
Fabulous food and wine - thank you!
We were there for late Sunday roast lunch. We started with scallops, followed by the roast beef and then a lemon tart dessert with various glasses of white then red... read more wines. And it was all fabulous. Special mention for the quality of the beef, the Yorkshire pudding and the accompanying veg. And the service was special too. All very good value.
Very special experience all around. The food was excellent! So many flavours, all made with great care. Each dish was delicious. I’ve never had carrots so good - definitely chef... read more magic! Lovely to have lots of small plates to share as a family.
The staff looked after us very well and really know how to cater for food intolerances.
Such a great lively atmosphere, even at 6pm on a Thursday.
Reading some excellent reviews on this restaurant I decided to book a table. We were very disappointed in it and found it very over priced and over rated . Not... read more much ambiance and will definitely not return.
Came here for my partner’s birthday and was absolutely blown away. Incredible concept, showcasing great ingredients in an interesting way. The staff were all exceptional and some lovely touches like... read more a birthday card from the team and a glass of fizz. Refreshingly different and exciting food and can’t wait to visit again next time in in Dartmouth.
Great service. Interesting, delightfully prepared food. Lovely wine.
A different, refreshing approach to food.

The Butler, a red Cab Sav from USA was one of the best I’ve had at £60.
If you like good food cooked perfectly but without pretentiousness this is the place. This chef understands how to cook good quality food perfectly in a relaxed atmosphere. We have... read more been several times now when visiting Dartmouth and each time has been better than the last. The smallish wine list offers good value for money and the staff are eager to please and knowledgeable of the foods they are serving. Would not visit Dartmouth without a reservation here.
Their menu is well thought through and delightfully served - they certainly know how to cook! Anyone familiar with York will recognise Skosh but replicated in Dartmouth. But please don't... read more try for a Michelin Star - it will encourage the"foodies" who wish to "Tick you off their list" and never return and complain about the service or maybe too much salt in something.
